Michael John LarsonI just purchased one of these and OMG it is the best. What a great idea. I do a lot of sewing on leather, particularly Bomber hats and heavy winter mittens. I am using relatively thin leather (Usually buck skin) and beaver, racoon, otter, coyote and fox. With beaver and otter, I usually do the sewing by hand because of the thickness that the leather can be. My hands don't work so well in my old age and I can't afford a larger machine, so this works out great. Well done.
RichardI have used the Granny Wheel on both my 44S and 4452 Singer sewing machines. They fit perfectly and don't wobble or slip at all. I make wallets and other light leather/heavy fabric items and I frequently do much of the stitching with the hand wheel rather than the electric motor. The Granny Wheel makes this much easier and greatly reduces wrist fatigue. Highly recommended!
DeborahHello, I absolutely love your idea of the Granny Wheel. I sew metal zippers in designs and use a blanket stitch to hold them down. I'm cranking the wheel when I get to curves so I don't hit the metal zipper teeth and I have blisters turning the wheel by hand. I think your Granny Wheel will do the trick, but I have a Bernina B740 and need to know if you have a wheel to fit. It is 2cm wide and the diameter is 6.4 cm.
